The Interrupters
The Interrupters are a group every hood needs. These guys can relate to the kids and sometime change the kids mind into not being violent. In the movie they say "they see violence as their disease." This meaning that these kids think their disease is violence and theres nothing they can do about it. growing up in violence would make it feel like a disease because you've had it in your whole life so theres no way its going to change or go away.

I agree, I think there needs to be more groups like the interrupters in every city with these violence problems.
ReplyDeleteThe interrupters are a good organization. It is easier to understand how violence could be a disease after watching the documentary. I don't believe that the interrupters would be as effective if they didn't have any life experience with the nature of the community.
ReplyDeletei think every person chooses their life. they can be a drug dealer or they can make the worlds next best thing. growing up around that disease should make these children want to be better instead of being another statistic.
ReplyDeleteI think you're totally right. The Interrupters are effective in what they do and I think most cities like this around the country would benefit from a group like them.
